Menu Planning Monday

After purchasing four more bottles of Kraft barbecue sauce this week, I realized that I really need to use up some of my barbecue sauce stockpile (I have 14 bottles of barbecue sauce, not including the opened bottle that is in the refrigerator!). So, this week, I am gearing my menu around using up some of my stockpiled barbecue sauce! However, I don’t have many days to make a dent in my supply, because we are going out of town on Friday, but I will do my best! Here is what we are having:

Monday
Breakfast: Blueberry Streusel Muffins, smoothies
Lunch: Beef hot dogs, chips, yogurt, raspberries
Dinner: Jalepeno Barbecue burgers, mashed potato patties with spinach, canteloupe

Tuesday
Breakfast: Blueberry Streusal Muffins, sausage, smoothies
Lunch: Salad with bacon and boiled egg, peaches, yogurt
Dinner: BBQ Shredded Pork Roast sandwiches, broccoli, green bean casserole

Wednesday
Breakfast: Waffles, sausage, smoothies
Lunch: Leftovers, blueberries
Dinner: Cheddar BBQ Chicken, Spinach Rice casserole, fruit

Thursday
Breakfast: Waffles, smoothies
Lunch: Grilled cheese, tomato soup, fruit
Dinner: Leftovers or out

So, that’s what we are eating this week. Check out what others are eating this week at I’m an Organizing Junkie.

Menu Planning Monday
I haven’t made a weekly menu in several weeks, and boy has my eating-out-budget taken a hit! We are so busy that if we do not have a meal plan in place we will eat out way more than we should. It’s ironic that when I am really busy, I don’t make a meal plan…and that’s when I really need it! Hopefully, we will do better this week with a menu in place. Here is what we have planned for this week:

Monday
Breakfast: Muffins, bananas
Lunch: Leftovers, salad
Dinner: Out

Tuesday
Breakfast: Muffins, bananas
Lunch: Turkey sandwiches, chips, yogurt, applesauce
Dinner: Roast beef, potatoes, carrots, Sour Cream Cornbread Muffins

Wednesday
Breakfast: Muffins, bacon, blueberries
Lunch: Leftovers, canteloupe
Dinner: Cheesy Sour Cream Herb Chicken, baked herbed potatoes, green beans

Thursday
Breakfast: Waffles, blueberries
Lunch: Turkey sandwiches, chips, yogurt, applesauce
Dinner: Swedish Meatballs with pasta, vegetable

Friday
Breakfast: Waffles, bacon, canteloupe
Lunch: Leftovers
Dinner: Tuna patties, salad, canteloupe

Saturday
Breakfast: Biscuits, eggs, bacon, canteloupe
Lunch: Beef hot dogs, chips, salad
Dinner: Leftovers

So, that’s what we are eating this week. Check out what others are eating this week at I’m an Organizing Junkie.

meal-planning
We have had a very hectic last couple of weeks, and, while we ate most meals at home, they were not as well-planned and well-balanced as I would have liked. Our evenings would have felt a lot less hectic these past few weeks if I planned out our meals. So, this week, I am going to make sure that I have a meal plan in place! Here is what we will be eating this week:

Monday
Breakfast: Cereal bars, banana
Lunch: Free CroisSONIC sandwich, strawberries, yogurt
Dinner: Mexican Stuffed Shells, corn, manderin oranges

Tuesday
Breakfast: Waffles, strawberries, smoothies
Lunch: Leftovers, yogurt
Dinner: Sausage Potato soup, homemade French bread, apples

Wednesday
Breakfast: Applesauce Oatmeal muffins, strawberries, smoothies
Lunch: Leftovers
Dinner: Chicken and Rice Casserole

Thursday
Breakfast: Applesauce Oatmeal muffins, smoothies
Lunch: Leftovers, yogurt
Dinner: Three-Cheese Baked Spaghetti, broccoli, homemade garlic bread

Friday
Breakfast: Applesauce Oatmeal muffins, blueberries, smoothies
Lunch: Beef hot dogs, baked potatoes
Dinner: Leftovers, fruit salad

Saturday
Breakfast: Waffles, eggs, blueberries
Lunch: Leftovers
Dinner: Mother’s Day meal for my mom – Pork tenderloin, green beans, potatoes, whole wheat French bread rolls, chocolate cake with peanut butter icing (You have to try this cake…it is very yummy – especially the icing!)

Hopefully, this will decrease some of our “hectiness” this week!

I thought that it might be interesting for me to post the meals that we eat each week. Many people think that if you use coupons to shop for groceries you are limited to eating a lot of junkie, processed food. I’m not going to say that we never eat junk food (because that is certainly not the case), but that is not the majority of what we eat. Here is the menu for this week:

Monday

Breakfast: Waffles, banana

Lunch: Sandwich, carrot sticks with ranch dressing

Dinner: Hot dogs, homemade potato salad, homemade slaw, strawberries

Tuesday

Breakfast: Bagels with cream cheese, banana

Lunch: Triscuits with cheese, yogurt, carrot sticks

Dinner: Homemade Sausage and Potato soup, bread

Wednesday

Breakfast: Homemade banana bread, strawberries

Lunch: Out with a friend

Dinner: Steak, broccoli, mashed potatoes, yeast rolls

Thursday

Breakfast: Homemade banana bread, yogurt

Lunch: Tuna salad sandwich, carrot sticks and grape tomatoes with ranch dressing

Dinner: Slow-cooked chicken, rice, green beans

Friday

Breakfast: Homemade banana bread, applesauce, scrambled eggs

Lunch: Ham and Cheese Waffles (I found this recipe in the April All You – I’ll share the recipe if it’s good!), carrot sticks with ranch dressing

Dinner: Sloppy joes, sweet potato fries, pickles

Saturday

Breakfast: Homemade blueberry pancakes

Lunch: English muffin pizza, salad

Dinner: Leftovers

I find that planning our meals for the week really helps out! My husband and I are both so busy, and it is very tempting to just pick up something for dinner. If we already have a plan in place, then it makes deciding what to do about dinner practically thoughtless! Try planning your meals for a week, and let me know how it goes!
